Armed Force Tribunal

The Armed Force Tribunal was formulated based on the provisions of the Armed Force Tribunal Act 2007 and operates solely for the trial or adjudication by the Armed Forces. AFT deals with the complaints and disputes pertaining to Appointments, Commissions, Conditions of Service, Enrolments of the people subject to the provisions of the Army Act 1950, the Air Force Act 1950, and the Navy Act 1957. AFT also allows for appeals arising out of the findings, order, or the sentences of court-martial, and for the matters incidental or connected therewith.

The Principal Bench of AFT is in New Delhi and Regional Benches are being located at Lucknow, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Kochi, Jaipur, and Mumbai. The sole aim behind the establishment of the Armed Force Tribunal is to make the trust, belief, and confidence of the Armed Force Member stronger. Consequently, all the service members of the armed forces have a right to approach the Armed Force Tribunal.
